Biography

Guitarist, composer, producer, and radio host, David Margam is an iconic figure in smooth jazz and contemporary music. Born in Granada, Spain, he released his debut album «Immune» in 2023, a work that encapsulates more than 30 years of musical experience. This album blends genres such as funk, smooth jazz, bossa, gospel, and R&B, featuring collaborations with renowned international musicians, including J. Michaels, Jimmy Østbygaard, Carlos Camilo, Lee Jones, Gianni Vancini, and Spanish Rosa Lazar, María Romero, and Sergio Hidalgo, among others.

David Margam Music, renowned Spanish guitarist, producer, and composer, has established himself as a leading figure in the contemporary smooth jazz scene. His talent for fusing the nuances of funk and contemporary jazz has captivated international audiences.
In 2023, he released his debut album, Immune, which received critical acclaim and positioned him as one of the most influential artists in the genre today.
For 2025, David Margam continues to expand his impact with exciting projects, including his latest single, «One More Chance,» a collaboration with the Filipino-American producer and singer, available now on all digital platforms.
He recently released «Whispers» and «Tropical Coast,» previews of his upcoming album, scheduled for release in January 2026, featuring major international collaborations such as pianist and composer Diego Dixmusic and saxophonists Lee Jones and Jorge Pinelo.
He also promises new compositions that will continue to highlight his virtuosity and musical creativity.

With eleven tracks produced by renowned producers from Europe and the United States, «Immune» is a rich musical experience filled with cultural diversity and emotion, conceived during the 2020 pandemic. Each song reflects a sonic journey infused with tropical and urban nuances, delivering melodies that resonate deeply and uplift the spirit. This album achieved significant recognition on international charts, such as the UK Soul Chart Breakers and the SmoothJazz.com TOP 100, cementing Margam’s reputation as a leading artist in the scene.

David Margam is also recognized as a founding member of Funkdación, Spain’s most iconic funk band, with which he has released seven albums since 1995. Additionally, he is the creator of the MARHID project alongside pianist and producer Sergio Hidalgo, whose single «Sensibility» won an award at the 9th Annual OWMR Awards in the UK. His international collaborations and innovative approach have established him as one of the most influential guitarists of the new smooth jazz generation.

As the creator and host of Funkmania Radio, Margam celebrates and promotes the sounds of funk, smooth jazz, and R&B. This project, transformed into a radio station in 2021, has been running for 25 years and earned him the title of Smooth Jazz Ambassador in Spain by the international platform Smooth Jazz Universe.

David Margam is currently working on his next album, slated for release in January 2026. This new project will feature collaborations with prominent contemporary artists, including Miami saxophonists Lee Jones and Jorge Pinelo, Cuban pianist Roberto Vázquez, Austrian producer and guitarist Horst Lippitsch, Italian pianist and producer Diego Calcagno, and Chicago-based producer and guitarist John Carey. Also featured is Spanish musician Andrés García. With Madz Johnson producing the track ‘One More Chance’ and Carlos Camilo, one of Miami’s leading producers and pianists in the Smooth Jazz scene, the album promises to be an exciting continuation of his musical journey, bringing his passion from Granada to the world and solidifying his position as one of the most prominent figures on the international music scene.

Studios TOP TEN 2023, and was featured as Artist Spotlight Sunday by Deepspawn_Logic (New Jersey, USA). It also ranked #8 on the British UK Soul Chart Breakers, entered the TOP 15 in the UK 2023 with Road to West Coast, and achieved #14 on the Canadian TOP 25 «Les 25 cartes frimées de DJ Jokker du 5 février 2023» through the ACXIT Web Radio station in Canada. Additionally, the singles I’ll Treat You Right and Hunch (MARHID) reached the TOP 10 on Radio Indie International Network – The Best 10 Songs of the Week (Italy & USA) in 2022.
